9-year old creates community voice in Yachats

Making ideas into reality is often no small feat for anyone. Described as an “idea machine” by his father Eddie Taylor, nine-year old Allen Taylor of Yachats thought up the idea of a community newspaper over one-and-a-half years ago. This idea stood apart from the others as a practical and do-able one Eddie explained. Allen’s goals were simple: be a community voice since none existed at the time, help local businesses, and support his train hobby.

May 25, 2012 is "Missing Children's Awareness Day" in oregon


To help raise child safety awareness during the month of May, families are encouraged to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety and abduction prevention as part of the Take 25 ( national child safety campaign. A list of 25 safety tips for parents that can help save a child's life is included with this news release.
