Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteer

Every day, ordinary people are accomplishing extraordinary things by volunteering.

You don't have to have superhuman ability to get involved in your community. We all have special talents, things we can do to help. Put your skills to work for our community.

We've teamed up with community partners to connect folks with ways to get involved. In Benton County, contact visit www.lbvision.org for more information. In Lincoln county, contact Pat Brooks.

Be an important part of United Way and volunteer with Us! You can help review request for funding, support United Way at events, build partnerships and advocate for the work we're doing. Email us.

2-01-10: Benton County call for volunteers

Want to help families living below the poverty level? Want more of your neighbors to have access to health care? Want to change what you see in your neighborhood?

Become a Granting Committee volunteer—and have a say in how social service dollars are invested. The United Way system is successful only when it is accountable to the community it serves. Our granting process depends on citizen volunteers to review agency requests and make funding recommendations. You’ll represent the interests of hundreds of donors—yours and your neighbors--holding both United Way and community partner agencies accountable, ensuring priority human service needs are met in Benton County.

What’s involved?

Key Dates: here...

All are invited. It doesn’t matter who you are, or how long you’ve lived here – all you need is a desire to help the community, and the time to participate in the process. From start to finish, you’ll spend about a dozen hours making decisions that create lasting change, here, in our backyards. A timeline is attached to give you an idea of when the committee will meet.

Do some good. As a granting committee team member, you have the power to help people throughout our community. You recommend funding for programs provided by human service agencies that meet basic need, provide crisis care, and improve the lives of seniors, youth and at-risk families, and the disabled.

This is a great opportunity to meet community agencies and learn about their programs and services—and how they affect you and your neighbors.
